Darlington Foodbank is an excellent cause and the one Haughton Academy gave to at Christmas. The Foodbank is a place where anyone who finds themselves in times of hardship can receive an emergency bag of food. Since Covid-19 the Foodbank has seen a 40% increase in the use of this vital emergency food resource, supporting approximately 410 young people and families with children at King’s alone. King’s Foodbank are also currently supporting other Foodbanks in the local area to help meet the current climates needs.
