Story

We will Walk 192 Miles, it will be done over 14 days, without a rest day, averaging 13.7 miles daily, doesn't sound much, add in That crossing the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales National Park and then the North York Moors... which on any day all three can be treacherous...The aim of the walk will be to Raise funds for these two amazing local Charities...
firstly, Oldham Mountain Rescue, are essentially an EMERGENCY Service that serve our community and the local region but despite this and being there to help there are entirely self funded relying on Charitable donations... I have met a number of staff and it gobsmacked me .... These amazing people go to great lengths to keep people safe at their own cost and in their own time..Have a look on there site. Receiving regular requests from police and ambulance service and the public. They generally go out when most would stay in.. So really want to show our communities gratitude by raising as much as we can......
Secondly and a project that deserves our support... George's Den (1st Mossley Scouts) .. is a centre being set up, where young people can express them selves and have fun, explore there talents but also receive support.. This project has been set up in Memory of George who sadly passed away This year.... We aim to support this venture and raise vital funds to make this Fantastic project flourish... Having spoke to the team setting this up, I know how much this could be a major asset to the community so we really want to raise as much as we can..And the youngsters want to get behind this and may join us on the walk , and where we will walk very much in George's memory, hopefully harnessing his strength to push us on... You will be with us George .....❤
