Story
Hi Everyone,
As a club, we are taking on a charity fundraising challenge to support the fantastic #smashthetash campaign. This has been a local initiative set up by cricketers in the North Staffs and South Cheshire cricket league, with the sole aim of raising money for NHS services during this extraordinarily challenging time. So far, through the amazing work of other individuals and local cricket clubs, they have raised over £20,000! Now, we have decided to set up our own challenge and get involved too!
Our challenge is to 'Beatthepros'!
Elworth Cricket Club professionals past and present have played a major part in the success of the whole club and have helped to make the place it is. To honour their significant contribution to our cricket club, and to acknowledge the fact that our new professional- Lizaad Williams- has been unable to come over and play this year, we are setting our challenge with them in mind. The last 5 professionals to play for Elworth CC have scored an incredible combined total of 9579 runs. Therefore, they have set us a very ambitious target of 9580 miles to win!
We are aiming to complete this event with a combination of walking / running and biking between the dates of Saturday 13th June to Saturday 11th July. This is a huge total, but we see it as a great opportunity to get club members of all ages together as well as raising lots of money for this fantastic cause.
Thank you for taking the time to look at our page. Please support us on our quest to raise as much money as possible for this extremely worthy cause. The whole cricket club is getting involved and it is a great example of a range of ages and generations from one community coming together to tackle an immense challenge.
Thank you for any donations- they are most welcome!
