My name is Ellis Taylor-Williams and I am the current Head Girl at Spalding Academy. I am writing to seek your assistance to help me take part in a once in a life time expedition to Swaziland, Africa.

I have enrolled to take part in the ‘World Challenge’ 14 day expedition to Africa, this summer. This involves a 7 day trek across some of the nature reserves of Swaziland, Africa camping at night in tents and getting used to the sights sounds and smells of the African bush lands!

I will then stop and spend time working on a project in a local village, helping to renovate a classroom and contribute towards education by meeting and teaching local children.

As a school student in Spalding, Lincolnshire I would never have thought I would get the chance to do something like this. There will be challenges along the way I am sure, but I am looking forward to being part of a team who will experience something extraordinary. Amongst other skills I am sure we will have to show resilience, trust, empathy and team work – all skills I believe will make me a better person and stand me in good stead for the wider world outside of school.

To help raise the money for my expedition, I will be doing a 120 mile, distance from North Swaziland to South, cycle throughout the duration of a week. The will start on the week of the 17th of April.
