Story
This is Rosie. She is a 10 year old rescue labradoodle. Just recently she has become very ill. She is insured but we have now maxed out on the payments they will make, and we still have a long way to go.
Rosie has become very weak. Following ultra sound scans and blood tests we know her heart, liver, kidneys and lungs are all fine. However, she is showing signs of a neurological disorder, as her eyes are uneven, and although her brain is processing it is slow to respond to stimuli. Her temperature keeps spiking, and she has barely eaten anything over the last week.
The next step to try and find out what is wrong is for her to have an MRI scan at a specialist vet. She is there at their hospital right now, being cared for by them, and she will have the MRI on Monday. It will cost between £3000 and £4000 with the cost of the hospitalisation and anti-biotics etc on top.
I don't ask for help very often, but I am now. This time last year we lost our other dog to diabetes and, to be perfectly honest with you, it wiped us out financially. Now we are in danger of losing this one, and it hurts. If anyone can help us we will be forever in your debt. Thank you for reading this far. Love, Eileen, Paul, Ailsa and Iain xxx

5 years agoThank you to everyone who has helped us over the past couple of months. Rosie is doing well. She is learning to cope with her blindness, and is finding her way around the house with a little bit of help. It made us smile so much when she got up to greet someone coming in through the front door by herself. I'm going to claim the money now, and close this page down. Thank you again to everyone - words cannot tell you how much I really appreciated your help, and your loving and caring messages. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

5 years agoThank you to everyone who has helped us so far. The bills are mounting up so we really are grateful. Rosie has had another checkup. She has another month's worth of anti-biotics, but the vet is very pleased with her progress. We now know it is unlikely she will get her sight back, but she is learning to cope very quickly, and is happy in herself. Every day is progress. She still isn't eating properly, and sometimes vomits after a meal but the vet doesn't seem to be overly worried about it. We'll just be keeping an eye on it.

5 years agoRosie had a check-up with the vet this week. So we have good news/bad news. Good news - Rosie is eating well, pooing and weeing well, enjoying her walks. The vet did what he called a 'Dazzle Test' on her eyes, and she did react, so they have improved a little, although she is still blind. Bad news - the bill so far stands at £4800. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us so far. Your contributions have so far paid for 6 nights in hospital. We are so, so grateful for your help. xxx
