We are setting up this page for our mam Diane. She is type 1 diabetic and has gone blind and suffers from renal failure . She needs to be on dialysis 3 times a week.
Our mam is 34 and has had diabetes since she was 9. We are hoping to raise £2400 to buy her an Or Cam My Eye. This device will enable her to know when we are near her and also read letters and our school work. It would give her some independence and make her feel more like herself.
She is waiting for a kidney transplant, her sight loss started 5 years ago and after having laser treatment and operations the doctors couldn't save her sight and for the last 4 years she has not been able to see anything. The Or Cam My Eye would give her the chance to read books again and read her own post instead of dad and us doing it for her.
There are no grants available to buy an Or Cam My Eye for our mam, this is why we are having to set up this crowd funding page.
