Story
Will you help CHC fund a new All Weather Pitch at Hazelwick School?
The Project :
To raise £50,000 in partnership to part fund the only top quality pitch in Crawley.
One that meets the highest national standards for hockey, tennis and netball and that is ideal for community use.
Why you?
Just £10 will secure 1 square metre of the new pitch. YOU will become a named pitch partner.
Why now?
The current All Weather Pitch is over 15 years old and will soon become unplayable.
A sand-dressed pitch (England Hockey Category 1), ideal for multi-sport use would be available to the Community throughout the year.
Why Hockey?
Hockey is a team sport played by all ages, abilities, genders and ethnicities in over 138 countries. The Women’s World Cup in London in July and the Men’s World Cup in India in December 2018 will see extensive live television coverage worldwide.
It is a popular and well-established sport. Club hockey has increased by 40% and under 16 players by 80% since 2011. Participation by girls will double by 2018 (England Hockey). It is a top five school sport nationally.
While it proves increasingly popular in Crawley Primary Schools there is no provision in the Secondary Schools for development and match play.
The new pitch will provide a centre of excellence locally and secure hockey in Crawley for the future.
Why Partner?
Crawley has the largest population in West Sussex. There is huge potential to increase participation in sport with benefits in health and well-being. CHC has initiated an innovative partnership with Hazelwick School to promote sport and physical activities across all ages for the next 20 years.
A partnership will enable you to be involved in the construction of this unique sporting facility. It will provide opportunities for new activities and disabled access, breaking down barriers and increasing social cohesion.
Sport and physical activity enhance fitness, mental resilience, teamwork, leadership skills and promote high levels of enjoyment.
Crawley Hockey Club, Hazelwick School and YOU ! A Winning Partnership!
