**Follow or Like Charlotte And The Sixty-five Roses on Facebook! @CharlotteCF2016**

On the First of August 2016, at two weeks of age, our daughter Charlotte was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, and so our lives changed forever all over again.

Cystic Fibrosis is a life long and often limiting disease which affects over 10,800 people in the UK alone. A build up of thick sticky mucous in organs such as the lungs and pancreas, means that Cystic Fibrosis Fighters have to take a lot of medication and undergo hours of physical therapy everyday to keep healthy and live their lives to the max.

Birmingham Children' Hospital... What can we say?! From running the neonatal screening service that helped diagnose our daughter, to providing flawless specialist Cystic Fibrosis care, all for Charlotte and the other Cystic Fibrosis Fighters of the West Midlands. We cannot thank them enough!

Cystic Fibrosis Trust... The support that they provide is amazing and so important for such an isolating disease. Whether you are the Cystic Fibrosis Fighter, the carers, a sibling, friend or a loved one, there is support or information there for you! The all important raising awareness and campaigning, and all of your efforts are really appreciated!

A lot of additional equipment can be quite helpful for Cystic Fibrosis Fighters however like with anything costs amount up, so we would also like to raise some money to help some less fortunate families with a few bits of equipment they may find helpful.

The plan is to keep this page running all of 2017 (somehow even if it means doing a new page every four months) to try to raise the maximum funds possible. Anyone will be able to participate in some way with the different events and obviously with how this site works, any donations are greatly appreciated, even if you do not wish to partake in events.

Also, if anyone has any fundraising ideas please share!! It would be amazing if we could reach the target and maybe even more!!

Purple is the Cystic Fibrosis awareness colour and for all of February I will be looking rather purple! I will be wearing all purple that is, including a purple wig! I will also be armed with some leaflets promoting the Charlotte And The Sixty-five Roses JustGiving page and Facebook blog page, all with a hope to raise some awareness about CF. Both Charlotte’s Aunties will be joining in too. Anyone who wants to join us, even for a single day you can get in touch with me via blog or Email (Sophie.martyniuk@yahoo.co.uk) and we can talk purple!! 

My parents have started the ball rolling with some running!! They have ran 9 Kilometres so far!! Thanks Mum and Dad :) I think I will make Friday 'Update Day' from now on, you can keep track of progress made so far on this update feed. Remember anyone can contribute to the running, cycling or swimming, just send me an email with your distance and I will add to the tally. Aid and myself will be donating £50 for every Ironman triathlon completed (one Ironman triathlon = 3.86 km swim, 180.25 km bicycle ride and 42.20 km run and the target is 20!)
