7 months ago my friend Marzena was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer and was given around 15 months to live.
Marzena is a mother of 3 with her youngest daughter only being 16 months old.

However Marzena is a fighter and has researched for treatments that aren’t available on the NHS for the type of cancer that she has.
Through her research and consultations she was referred to RPTC–Rinecker Proton Therapy Centre in Munich Germany.

Marzena has been advised that the treatment from the RPTC will help extend her life as it will allow her to become almost completely cancer free.

As a mother myself I do not want to imagine what I would have to do if this was to happen to me,I do however know that we all have the power to help save a life.
As this treatment is not available in the UK all costs have to be raised by Marzena. So far she has raised a large amount to help towards the treatment, through various fund raising events, life insurance policies and family and friends selling goods.

Unfortunately fund raising has come to a standstill and we are now £10,000 short of our £40,000 goal.

On top of these we have volunteered at local children’s parties and offering face painting where any donations were added to the fund.

Once we are able to send Marzena to RPTC she will face a further uphill struggle with the side effects of the radiation such as: vomiting,blackouts,hair loss,mobility issues.

The doctors have advised that she will be in constant pain for a period of at least 2 months.
This is to allow the cancer to be eradicated so that chemotherapy can again be started.

Due to these side effects Marzena will be unable to care for her youngest daughter Paulinka.

To allow her husband to carry on his full time job to help support the family they will also need money for childcare during this period.

We have a month to raise another £10,000 and I truly believe that we can do it.
