I've raised £1500 to help us fund community events and projects that serve to protect, celebrate and enhance the biodiversity of the Benfield Valley.

The Benfield Valley Project is a volunteer-led community group, working to protect, enhance and celebrate the biodiversity of the Benfield Valley, a local nature reserve under threat of development. We have been running community events in and around the valley since the summer of 2020 and these have included our popular Community Nature day, nature walks such as early morning dawn chorus walks, our unique fairy door trail, bat walks, litter picks and many more.
All of our events are free to attend and we frequently work with local schools and youth groups to engage young people with the space, teaching them about biodiversity, local wildlife and why the valley is such an important green space for the area and wider city.
We are committed to keeping our events free and accessible to all and removing barriers to inclusion is one of our main incentives. As a result we need funding to keep our events running. All money raised will go towards equipment such as litter pickers, sweep nets and ecology survey tools as well as printing costs, insurance costs, first aid training for our volunteers and equipment hire for our bigger events. We would love to run more talks in the area and hire local experts to help us with surveys and share their knowledge and wisdom on local wildlife and biodiversity.
Thank you for your interest in the Benfield Valley Project! We hope to see you at an event soon!
The BVP Team, x
