During a 3 week period from Monday 22nd. August to Wednesday 7th. September 2022 Alan Jones-Bratt will be attempting to complete a series of sports challenges that evolved because Alan will be 'celebrating' his 80th. birthday on 9th. September. Based on a theme of 80x80 he has planned to complete - in week 1)- 80 Ends of Outdoor Rink Bowling over 2 days - 40 ends per day, 80 Ends of Indoor Rink Bowling again same format as for outdoor -in week 2)- play 80 Holes of Golf over 3 days at 3 separate golf courses completing 27 Holes each day and in week 3)- doing 80 miles of walks over 4 days completing 4 different walks each 20 miles to full-fill the challenge. Special thanks indeed to each of the venues for allowing Alan to facilitate his challenges:- MALVERN HILLS INDOOR BOWLS CLUB, STOURPORT OUTDOOR BOWLING GREEN CLUB, St. DUNSTANS OUTDOOR BOWLS CLUB, WORCESTER, BROMSGROVE INDOOR BOWLS CLUB. Also - WHARTON PARK GOLF CLUB, OMBERSLEY GOLF CLUB also BEWDLEY PINES GOLF CLUB. All of this to support 4 charities that have personal importance in that they have had a devastating affects on Alans family. Firstly in April 1977 eldest brother Dennis died of Motor Neuron Disease aged just 50.Brother Stanley died in June 2010 aged 82, Stan was only member of family that suffered with Diabetes. In March 2020 brother Donald passed away after having severe Dementia, Don was 88. Finally brother Ivan incredibly recovered from a critical state of Prostate Cancer, the new Robotic treatment saved him. Sadly Ivan passed away on 14th. January 2022 Ivan was aged 86. Alan has just one Sister - Hilda now aged 95. Hilda was the weaker twin of Brother Dennis! This now leaves just 2 remaining members of the family, Hilda the eldest & Alan the youngest. Hopefully with your support Alan hopes to remember his 'lost' family members and provide the legacy of these challenges by making sizeable contributions from his efforts to support these deserving charities.
