We are a group of 14 members of Staff from the Riverbank Childrens Ward at Bedford Hospital, and we are planning to walk 24 miles through the Yorkshire Peaks in under 12 hours, to try and raise funds for the Riverbank ward Sensory Garden. The entire project requires £30,000 pounds to completely remove the existing garden and replace it with a bright, safe and inclusive area for all of our Children and their families, regardless of their Healthcare needs. Patients and their families really benefit from a safe outdoor environment to escape, play and relieve their stresses but sadly the current garden is in serious decline. We aim to raise £2000 between us to support the project by using our well honed ward walking skills and applying them to the great outdoors.
