children are the future leaders of the world, teaching them about the value of home, coexistence, dialogue and tolerance is very needed in the time we are living in. Let's Be friends project aims to create awareness and break stereotypes across UK & Iraq.

I want to break stereotypes and educate people on the similarities we all share as humans and our ability to build peaceful friendships across the world, i am working with primary school student in the UK and Iraq because the two countries had a history of war with each other and peaceful dialogue should be promoted, and children are the future leaders of their societies and can teach adults the value of coexistence and tolerance through my project. The reason why i care about it is because I had a stereotype about people from the west until i got to meet some of them, and they had a stereotype about me too until they met me! i have made wonderful friends around the world from different cultures and backgrounds and learned a lot about others because i was lucky enough to and i want to give the same access to children to be able to change the stereotypes around the world.

the funds will go to cover the cost of white T-shirts and colors which the primary school students will use to exchange with each other across Iraq and UK which will have their art and positive messages to make a new friend who is so similar yet lives so differently 3600 miles away, it also covers the shipping costs from Iraq to UK and vise versa.
