Story
The Isle of Wight Cricket Board has a very successful Disability Cricket Team who are the current Regional Champions of the ECB Super 9's competition. Attending training and matches, gives a huge boost to all of our players, both in terms of their self-esteem as well as their physical and mental wellbeing.
One of our valued payers has been struggling to continue playing due to his physical disability and we would really love to be able to provide him with a specialised sports wheelchair to enable him to continue to be a part of our team. These chairs are expensive (anywhere between £500-£3,000) but we believe this is a cost well worth paying.
In addition to this, we have been fortunate to have received sponsorship this year from a local branch of Ascensos, towards the cost of the coloured kit the players wear, however we are lacking other basic items including batting pads, gloves and helmets - all of which are key to personal protection and the safety of our players. Any additional monies raised will go towards ensuring we have all the equipment required to meet the needs of our team.
