Ioan (7 years old) who has spina bifida has decided that he would like to raise money for the disability sports group that he attends. He has decided he will do this by getting to the top of pen-y-fan mountain.
He will do this by getting a group of volunteers to push him up whilst he is sitting on the back of a mountain bike as he cannot walk unaided and is a wheelchair user.
'Actif kidz' is a sports group for physically disabled, hearing/visually impaired children aged 5-11. The group is run by volunteers and parents who have been on coaching courses. The aim of the group is to give the children the opportunity to develop both physically and socially through the enjoyment of sports, as well as developing their self-esteem, social skills and friendship. Money raised for the club will be spent on new equipment for the children, storage container for the equipment and the ongoing hall hire costs.
We are aiming to do the climb end of march or beginning or April. Date to be confirmed .
