I have been looking for a ballet style dance class for my daughter , Emma, since she was 5 years old. Unfortunately there was nothing in Scotland. I eventually, after 2 years, found Flamingo Chicks dance school which looked absolutely perfect with the exception of being 368 miles away! The following year I met with Trina from the charity Buddy's Field who recognised the need for something similar in Scotland. Two years on we are finally starting our own dance school, Ballet Bees.

Ballet Bees will provide an inclusive community giving children with disabilities and illnesses such as cancer, the opportunity to enjoy ballet style dance alongside their friends.

We will have all kinds of children in our classes including those undergoing treatment for cancer, children who are visually impaired, those with autism, cerebral palsy, Downs Syndrome or other needs. We actively celebrate what our children CAN do.

While the children explore movement their parents and carers benefit from a vital support network.

Our vision is a world where disabled people have the same range of opportunities, and a culture of integrated social and well-being activity, where everyone works together as equals.

In order to start this class we need to raise funds to cover the cost of staff and volunteer training, staff wages, equipment & venue hire.
