Story
This time of year helps us reflect on what has happened in order to make better choices for the future. We were coming into 2016 with a light at the end of the tunnel. Amy was 24 when she found out she had stage 3 breast cancer, had had a successful mastectomy, and was well on her road to recovery.
This year took us into a different path. We started hopeful with Amy booked in to have a series of operations to remove her other breast and reconstruct both. Then just a mere 3 weeks before Christmas (2 weeks before Amy's 26th birthday), our families lives got turned upside down. Amy got rushed into the hospital where over a course of 3 days we were told that she has 1 large tumour on the right side of her brain, 2 smaller tumours on the left, a large tumour in her lung and a tumour near her kidney. The news that every cancer patient dreads had finally come. Amy is terminal. There is no current treatment that will eradicate Amy of this disease, but everyday we live hopeful that a miracle treatment will present itself.
Amy's family broke apart, thinking of her husband, her 13 year old step-daughter, and two beautiful little boys (aged 4 and 6) she will eventually leave behind. But, ever the optimist, Amy shrugged off all of the negativity and is looking to the future, no matter how long or short it may be.
Amy is in the process of devising a bucket list that will allow her to do the things with her family that she feels are important. Some things include taking the children on holiday, seeing her and her husbands favourite bands, and making memory boxes for the children along the way.
Amy has always been the one to devote time and energy to raise money for charities, before her illness and during. This page will help support Amy's bucket list, and help to make every single precious little moment count.
Please help us allow this wonderful, strong young woman make the beautiful memories that she and her family deserve.

8 years agoAmy and the whole family are so overwhelmed with the support we've been given. We've been offered so much for Amy that my heart is bursting with pride to be a part of the community that we are in. I am currently in talks with people about a new kitchen and bathroom for Amy, and hopefully our voices have been heard by the Stereophonics through our media campaign. Thank you all for your amazing support! #HelpAmyMeetKelly #LocalGirlInThePhotograph #WordGetsAround #AmysAppeal #AmyFest

8 years agoI am so shocked and humbled by the kindness and generosity of everyone who has donated and messaged with kind words of support. In 12 hours, we have raised over a half of Amy's total target. It is for this reason that I have decided to raise the total to £10,000 in the hopes that we can send her further and give her and her family better opportunities! After receiving the news that I was going to lose my sister, I lost all faith in what is right and what was just. Today you have restored my faith in humanity. Thank you! 💕💕
