Story

A team from the King's Royal Hussars have successfully cycled the 877 miles from to John O'Groats in just 6 days.  This was an average daily distance of 146 miles with the longest leg being 175 miles in a day.  To put this in context, the longest leg of the 2008 Tour de France was 144 miles.  We spent an average of 12 hours on the road each day (this was not a relay) stopping overnight in camp sites.  Unfortunately we lost 1 team member when Sgt Macparland had a high speed crash 130 miles through day 1, resulting in a night in Exeter hospital.  Fortunately he emerged the following day, very bruised, but with nothing broken.

Help for Heroes is a charity close to all our hearts.  It is raising money to improve the facilities at
, the military rehabilitation centre where our injured servicemen are sent to recover.  Indeed Capt Mark Brightwell, a team member, has spent a great deal of time in following an injury sustained in a rocket attack in last year.
