Story

'CrewBath', at Bath University, have formed a 34 member mixed rowing team which will be aiming to complete a gruelling 200km sponsored relay row in the middle of Bath City Centre on Saturday 1st of December 2007.

The 200km distance will be completed by 2 relay teams, both rowing 100km continuously, on separate rowing machines…

1 team, composed of 6 men and 3 women will be attempting to set a New British Record as the fastest 'BUSA small mixed team' to ever complete 100km! By rotating rowers after just 10-15 strokes in a spectacular sprint relay!!

Alongside, another team of 24 rowers will be rowing a further 100km non-stop between them throughout the day! rotating every 3-4km.

We are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the Stroke Association, as part of Siemens' nationwide 'Stroke for Stroke' fundraising campaign. The aim is to highlight the positive benefits of regular exercise and raise vital funds for the Stroke Association by encouraging people around the country to row the equivalent distance from London to Beijing in one week!

Stroke's are one of the top 3 causes of death in the(along with cancer and Heart Disease) costing the economy over £7billion every year in health and social costs. This is why the Stroke Association is working so hard to improve health and social care for stroke survivors and their families, and why as a charity, they are worthy of all our support,
