Oh my God! I see you thinking! -what is she doing now?!! The answer is the New York Marathon!! By the time I do it I will be thirty and I just figured that the time was right to do something useful with myself ( I'm sure most of you would agree).
More importantly though, ( and what I keep telling myself when near collapse!), is that this is in aid of Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital. The very fetching photo that you can see to my left is me at four ( Owen- I need a big donation just for having kept you hidden!) I was unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with a hip disease which meant that I spent nine months in a hospital bed in traction, followed by a year being known as 'the girl with the 2 broken legs' ( quite self- explanatory I think you'll find!) Because of the work carried out by places like Great Ormond St Hospital and places like it, for my condition, this would be unheard of today, and for those children who do have to spend huge chunks of time in hospital, it is a relief to know that the care and support both they and their families are given, is second to none.
So please give generously, most of you are at the age when so many sprogs are dropping that you could have shares in Mothercare- it's good to know that if the worst did happen, you could be confident that you were helping to provide the best care in the world for them. Thankyou! Lisa
