Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Chukuma Johnson Memorial Children's Library opened in February 2013. It is a fantastic free resource serving all the children and teachers in Waterloo, Sierra Leone.

Everyone is encouraged to visit the library and we are working with local schools to encourage regular class visits to the library to help imprive literacy.

Our team at the library don't just act as librarians. They also are able to sort books donated in the UK for distribution to mini libraries we have set up in schools in Waterloo and Port Loko.

Your donations will help up to maintain the library and also continue our work with the teachers and schools in Waterloo and Port Loko to improve standards of literacy across the generations.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
