Story
Hey all, thank you for taking the time to visit our page.
Over the past few months, I have been battling mental health issues. It's been a rough time for all involved. During the midst of my recovery, an old football team mate tragically took his own life.
1 in 4 of us will suffer from mental health issues in our life time. These issues do not discriminate, they care not for race, gender, age, beliefs or income, and it can be difficult to spot who they are affecting.
More and more young people - especially men - are taking their own lives, devastating the ones closest to them. We need to break the taboos surrounding mental health and encourage people to talk and also be there for others.
On October 10th (World Mental Health Day), myself, my brother Adam, and three of our closest friends, James, Rhys and Andrew, will be leaving the Liberty Stadium at 8pm with the intention of visiting all 92 Football League stadiums in 92 hours, culminating in us (hopefully) reaching the Cardiff City Stadium by 4pm Sunday 14th October.
We are raising money for the Jacob Abraham Foundation, an amazing local charity. The Jacob Abraham Foundation aims to help prevent suicide through direct 1:1 intervention with vulnerable people; raise awareness on mental health/suicide issues; promote positive mental health; provide Suicide First Aid training; and support people bereaved through suicide in Wales.
Please spare any amount, no matter how small, in order for us to help this amazing charity in their quest to help the lives of those who need it the most.
Much love to you all!
Matt xx
