Story

Thank you for visiting our page.

We are seeking your support, once more, for a major fundraising event in Nottingham and hope you will agree there can be no better cause.

It's now nearly 2 months since we set off from Paris in our attempt to complete the 350+ mile journey home to Nottingham in just five days.

On Saturday 18 April we crossed the 'finishing line' at half time at the Nottingham Forest vs Coventry Game at the City Ground, thus completing our challenge.

We are raising money for the Danielle Beccan Memorial Trust, set up in the aftermath of Danielle's tragic shooting in St Ann's in 2004.

But we need your help as we seek to break the £10,000 barrier and provide funds to enable the Trust to complete work on a dance studio in honour of Danielle, a keen dancer.

Our team was Councillor Collins, Leader of Nottingham City Council, former City Council Leader John Taylor and his wife Alison, and Jill Wilkinson from education charity Keys to Success, as well as a support team from Nottingham City Homes.

For more information on how we achieved our goal, check out the cycle blog at  http://cllrcollinscyclechallenge.wordpress.com.

The event gathered the support of a number of high profile individuals and organisations, including the City's football clubs and Notts County football clubs.

We hope that you will feel able to help us finish the Trust's magnificent efforts and in so doing establish a lasting memorial to Danielle which will be an inspiration to Nottingham’s young people.

The Nottingham Council for Voluntary Service has kindly agreed to collect the funds for the Danielle Beccan Trust and will process the donations made through this site. To find out more about the Trust, visit their website at http://www.daniellebeccanmemorialtrust.co.uk/

We are also grateful for the support of Three Rooms and Fast Graphics who have supplied our publicity material and thus helped us raise more money for The Trust. Thanks also to Evans Cycles who have supported us by providing top quality kit.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: the Danielle Beccan Memorial Trust will receive your money faster, and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
