Story

Hi, I'm Claire and I turned 28 on June 25, 2012

For each day I'm 28 years old I am going to run - 1,000 miles over 365 days - in the hope of raising money for Smile Train UK, a charity that provides free corrective surgery for children - like me - with cleft lip and palates in developing countries.

I am not a runner. I have never been particularly sporty or active, and that's why this is a big challenge for me. Rather than training for one big event, I wanted to dedicate myself to something for a whole year.

Having said that, I've now signed up for the Liverpool Half Marathon on March 17, 2013, and the Edinburgh Marathon on May 26, 2013 so I'll give those my very best shot.

And what better motivation to get out and see what I can achieve than raising money for Smile Train and helping to change young lives?
