Chris and I will be running the Chester Half Marathon on 13th May 2012 in loving memory of our niece, Freya. Freya was born on 10th August 2011 and tragically passed away just a few hours later due to undiagnosed Vasa Praevia. She was a beautiful, healthy, full term baby who should not have been lost to this devastating condition.

Vasa Praevia is rare, affecting just 1:2,500 births or 1:300 IVF pregnancies. Awareness of this condition, even amongst the medical professions, is very low. If diagnosed prenatally, the infant survival rate is 100%. www.vasaprevia.co.uk is a charity which is making great strides in raising awareness of this condition and is a lifeline for devastated parents.

Our main aim is to help to raise awareness, so please, spare a moment to take a look at the signs and symptoms on www.vasapraevia.co.uk as raising awareness really will save little lives.
