Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Chris and I will be running the Chester Half Marathon on 13th May 2012 in loving memory of our niece, Freya. Freya was born on 10th August 2011 and tragically passed away just a few hours later due to undiagnosed Vasa Praevia. She was a beautiful, healthy, full term baby who should not have been lost to this devastating condition.

Vasa Praevia is rare, affecting just 1:2,500 births or 1:300 IVF pregnancies. Awareness of this condition, even amongst the medical professions, is very low. If diagnosed prenatally, the infant survival rate is 100%. www.vasaprevia.co.uk is a charity which is making great strides in raising awareness of this condition and is a lifeline for devastated parents.

Our main aim is to help to raise awareness, so please, spare a moment to take a look at the signs and symptoms on www.vasapraevia.co.uk as raising awareness really will save little lives. Times are tough, but if anyone would like to make a donation, please see below - we would be most grateful. Love Shelley & Chris.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
