As you may know, our son Sam was born eight weeks prematurely in May 2007 and spent the first month of his life being cared for in the Special Care Baby Units firstly at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, then at Cheltenham General. Whilst we were extremely fortunate in that Sam was never unwell, we did get to see the important work the units do at close hand.

On Sunday October 25 I am running the Stroud half marathon. This is my opportunity to say thank you and raise some funds for Scoo-B-Doo, the registered charity for the Gloucester unit (http://scoo-b-doo.org.uk/). Scoo-B-Doo have been raising money for over 20 years to help buy important equipment for Gloucester SCBU, helping to save babies in need of special care.
