Story
We are the Cheesy Cheetahs, thank you for visiting our fundraising page. On 29th September 2012 at 11.30am we will be abseiling the height of 10 giraffes down the historic Cranmore Tower to raise funds for the SOS Africa charity children.
Here is our team:

As I've got older I've discovered a desire to scare myself with activities I'd never had the confidence or physical chutzpah to try when younger (Kate I partly blame you for the physical chutzpah bit!) . Abseiling meets these criteria nicely. This will be my abseiling debut and a few months ago when I signed up felt hugely confident, as the time to actually do it gets closer I'm not so certain- BUT make no mistake I intend to do it and make some money for SOS Africa! Please feel free to join the Cheesy Cheetah team for a post-abseil celebratory picnic.

I've never been abseiling before and this seems a good chance to do something I might like and raise money for a good cause.

Here in the UK we take so many things for granted, one of the most basic being a good education. In South Africa some children are not so lucky. If I can help in a small way it is worth stepping out of my comfort zone for a short while in order to raise money for less lucky children than those in the UK.
As for the actual abseil, as a teenager and in my 20s I was a keen rock climber; climbing in the Lake District, Northumberland and North Yorkshire. That, however, was many years ago and as I always love a physical challenge, this seemed the perfect opportunity. Can I still hold my nerve and step over the edge? We shall see . . .

When Jane asked me I didn't really envisage quite how high Cranmore Tower is, and on reflection, I might have said no had I thought about it. However, I have done a little climbing in my time, which I absolutely loved, and have abseiled for cancer research before. I thought it would be a good idea to do something risky and slightly scary with Josh, something we will remember and be proud of. It is also a fantastic opportunity to raise money and give something back to others.

Am coming along to make up numbers! No, seriously just to prove it’s never too late to abseil – and will scale any height to view, in rather a novel way, the beautiful Mendip landscape below! – by going to great lengths or should I say heights to do so!
Please sponsor us to help us reach our £300 target.
