Story
Chas Hollinshead, husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend, passed away suddenly but peacefully on Monday 20th January 2020.
He served in the army for 14 years, as Queenborough's Subpostmaster for 24 years, and served for many years as a Trustee for Queenborough Charities.
It is very hard to express how grateful his family are for the love and support we have received. We thank you all, and count ourselves so lucky. He was a kind man, a solid friend, and generous with his time, faith, and friendship, and he always listened. Every day we have been helped by stories of how he has helped others, and many people have offered help to us.
Instead of flowers we have chosen two charities which would mean a lot to him:
The Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) in Queenborough, whose bravery and generosity always impressed him, and some of whom were his friends. If you wish you can donate here: www.justgiving.com/chas-hollinshead-rnli
And Kent Air Ambulance, because they are there, ready and waiting to help people in their darkest times, and were there waiting for us. This page is for them.
The funeral will be held at 12pm on Thursday 13th February at the Garden of England crematorium in Bobbing, Kent. All are welcome. The wake which follows will be a private family function, and we hope you will all understand.
He will be missed by all. The world is a poorer place without him.
