We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

In the average time it takes to bake a batch of cakes, six people in the UK will develop dementia. On 12 June 2019, I will be baking cakes for a solid 12 hours in memory of my grandad, Thomas Jones, who had a notoriously sweet tooth. Grandad Tom lived with Alzheimer's for several years before he passed in 2011, and watching him lose himself through dementia was heartbreaking. By undertaking this 'cakeathon', I hope to help ensure that people with dementia across the UK are supported and accepted in every possible way.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, Alzheimer's Society will help to create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

£50 could let Alzheimer's Society be there for five people, for five hours of in depth support from our Helpline team at a time of crisis.

£150 could pay for two people with dementia to attend Singing for the Brain® sessions for one year, where they and their carers can come together for an hour each week to sing and dance with music.

£610 would pay for a Doctoral Training Centre to run for one day, helping up to eight PhD researchers to carry out ground breaking study in dementia research.
