Story

Hello! Madeline here!                                                                                           As 2015 draws to a close, we thought we would fill you in on all of our events that we have staged this year in support of Shooting Star CHASE and other wonderful charities. Back in March (that seems a while ago now!) we staged a large scale 70's night in support of Momentum Children's Cancer Charity, Arts 4 Dementia and Parkinson's UK Horsham Branch. This was a really fun and "funky" (which I believe is 70's lingo!) event and we were able to support some really inspiring causes.

Following this, we staged our summer CADDYS event in support of our special charity Shooting Star CHASE and later on in the summer, we put on our first event Chaldon Youth Choir showcase in support of The Rainbow Trust.

Most recently, we were part of the team that staged a community pantomime 'Jack and the Beanstalk' in support of Momentum Children's Cancer Charity and have performed at Staines Masonic Hall, Reigate Christmas Fayre at the turning on of the Reigate Christmas Lights.  We were delighted to be joined by Megan Bresnahan at these last two events as our lovely Emily is super busy. We are really pleased that Megan has been able to join us so that we can keep singing the three part harmonies that Tildy and I love so much.  I recently popped along to the Leatherhead Registry Office Christmas "do" and was really happy to be able to sing for them there along with the super talented Karen Norris.

Think that's all for now! We already have some events planned for 2016 and are hoping to raise even more funds for charities in the Surrey area. All that's left to do now is to wish you a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We have been very busy lately and have lots of exciting things ahead! Recently The Charisma Girls performed at a pink themed birthday party and held another hugely successful production week for young people. (CADDYS) Another highlight was performing again at The Harlequin Theatre this time hosting a vocal workshop as well where we met some really lovely young singers. Events on the horizon include a production to commemorate the passing of 100 years since the start of WW1, another performance at The Chaldon Fete, and the Christmas 'gig' Diary is already filling up! Exciting times ahead...!

2013 ended in a flurry of activity. After singing at The Bourne Society, we sang at the RNA (Royal Naval Association) Purley in celebration of Trafalgar Night. We also helped raise money for improvements to The Barn Theatre by singing at their fundraising production 'Let Us Entertain You' We then started celebrating Christmas by singing at the Freemasons Christmas dinner and were invited to sing at the turning on of the Christmas lights in Reigate where we promoted Shooting Star CHASE. We're very much looking forward to a busy 2014! Happy New Year from The Charisma Girls!

The Charisma Girls recently sung at The Bourne Society annual dinner and met some truly inspirational people. Thank you very much for your donation which is shown in our offline fundraising total at the bottom of the page.

Hi everyone! I (Madeline) have just run the Aviemore Half Marathon in aid of Shooting Star CHASE - not sure if I will ever walk again! Thank you to my sponsors. Next time I'm dragging Emily and Tildy with me!

***VISIT OUR NEW WEBSITE www.charismasingers.co.uk***

The Charisma Girls performed at The Lensbury Hotel, Teddington at a black tie dinner dance and added more money to their fundraising total. We also met a really cool band 'Costars' and the legend techie that is Oscar! Thank's for all your advice!

Well the sun was shining down on us on 26th August when The Charisma Girls performed at the Chaldon Fete. We had a great time trying out some new songs and our collection pots added more money to our offline donations total. We also came away with an abundance of coconuts from the coconut shy... either we've got brilliant aim or he liked our singing!

Charisma have been very busy lately, featuring in many different performances to raise further funds. Charisma have performed at Barrow Hills School at their 'Just for Girls' event, at Twickenham Stadium as part of the Surrey Rugby Awards evening and more recently, Madeline and Matilda performed at a concert to raise money for both Shooting Star CHASE and C.H.E.C.K (Community Health and Education for the Children of Kimilili) We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous donations and your continued support of Charisma and our fundraising for this wonderful cause.

Wow, what an amazing few weeks! On April 6th, the Charisma Girls put on another performance in a bid to reach their target of £10,000 raised for Shooting Star CHASE and hopefully you'll be pleased to hear that we did manage to raise enough money to exceed our fundraising goal!! We would like to thank everyone who has supported us on our fundraising journey and would like to announce that we are off to G-Live, Guildford next week to receive awards for being Surrey Young Superstars for Fundraising!

Our Christmas Shows's were a great success and thank you to all who supported us. We are thrilled with the amount we have raised for Shooting Star CHASE and who knows, this may even go higher in 2013! It's been a fantastic year for us and we have enjoyed every moment of our fundraising. Just a reminder you can visit our website: www.charismasingers.co.uk for more information and to see us in action! We'd like to wish you all a very happy new year!

On the countdown to our Christmas Show we have some exciting news! Our Christmas single written especially for Shooting Star CHASE hits Youtube and is coming to iTunes soon. We hope it raises lots of money! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8xbiWwBN5A.

Recently we have also performed at The Harlequin Theatre and Riverside Holiday Centre to raise money for a special little boy with Cerebal Palsy.

New line up - Watch this space *exciting!*

We're full steam ahead into preparations for our next big concert but found time to visit the Lower Kingswood Women's Institute Summer Soiree to sing for them and our quick visit added £165 to our total! Thank you to our lovely audience.

Wow what a Jubilee Weekend that was! We braved the weather and sung with wellies and umbrellas at Chaldon and with a very poor sound system at Reigate...sharing one mic between seven! and then finished with a rousing performance at Hillcroft Court. Thank you to everybody who came to watch and donated, we are well on our way to our target!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. Our April show was a great success!! We all really enjoyed ourselves and we hope you did too. See you at the next one!

*** Stop Press!! We've set ourselves a new target - £5,000 ***

Thanks for taking the time to visit Madeline Castrey and "Charisma's" JustGiving page.

We are a 5 piece vocal group called 'Charisma'  This group of children from 12 years to 16 years was formed after a show that we put on last Christmas called 'An Evening of Youth Music' The event was such an amazing success and I was so overwhelmed by the support that I decided to form our group called Charisma (ancient Greek for "the ability to inspire" ! ) We have set ourselves a target to raise £5,000 by the end of this year for Shooting Star CHASE children's hospice.  I was unwell myself last year but knew I would get better and it was then that I knew I wanted to do something for children less fortunate than myself.  My wonderful friends and I are now putting on a second show on April 14th at Chaldon Village Hall with a packed programme of songs from musicals past and present.

All of our shows are put on to raise money for this wonderful charity. We are children who want to help other children.  Please help us reach our target for the year as it would mean so much to us.

If you would like to come and support us at this lovely event on 14th April'12 we promise you will have a wonderful evening of entertainment.  Please call: 07880543467  or email: scastrey@aol.com to order your ticket in advance. It would be really lovely to see you there !

If you are not able to come but would like to make a donation to this charity please do this on our JustGiving account...we would love to make as much money as we can for this charity!

Thank you very much!  Madeline Castrey and Charisma xx
