Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our 'Climb for Cancer' donation page.

Who We Are:

'Climb for Cancer' is a Dubai based non-profit charity initiative that encourages hikers, climbers, and adventure enthusiasts to climb mountain peaks around the world in an effort to raise money for the fight against pediatric cancer.

We fund our own trips, equipment, and expenses, ensuring that 100% of the donations received goes directly to the cancer foundation we are supporting.

Our 2012 Challenge:

To climb to the summit of Mt. Elbrus (5,642m) in Russia, the highest peak in Europe, in order to raise funds for the 'Lyla Nsouli Foundation for Children's Brain Cancer Research'.

Our 2012 Climbers:

- Nizar Fakhoury

- Anis Tabka

Our Previous Challenges:

2011 - Trekked to Everest Base Camp in Nepal (5,345m) & climbed to the summit of Island Peak (6,189m) to raise money for five children suffering from cancer.

2010 - Trekked to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro (5,895m) the highest mountain in Africa, to raise money for two children suffering from cancer.

Our Achievements:

To date, we have raised over US$ 482,000 in the fight against pediatric cancer.

The 'Climb for Cancer' team has been awarded the 'Best Volunteer Fundraiser Organisation' for the years 2010 and 2011, by the King Hussein Cancer Foundation in Jordan.

About the charity

On August 13 2011, two year old Lyla Nsouli was diagnosed with a terrible form of brain cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). She passed away only 5 months later. Lyla's family set up this foundation in her honour to fund research into treatment and, eventually, a cure for DIPG.
