The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileFirst class conservation is at the heart of our work and the Trust was recently awarded a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) £1million match funded endowment grant. We now need to raise £1million to match the HLF award, making a total fund of £2million.
Our £2million endowment will go towards the Trust’s Fund for the Future appeal. This aims to provide £15 million for the long term conservation of precious heritage assets in the Coalbrookdale area which include the Old Furnace, Dam Wall, Quaker Burial Ground, Arboretum, Darby Houses and the Coalbrookdale Company’s Warehouse.
The Fund for the Future will also support our life-long learning programmes which bring the unique Ironbridge Gorge story to life for people of all ages.
Whilst visitor income contributes towards the operational running of the museums, our extensive portfolio of historic monuments and listed buildings is in constant need of costly specialised care and conservation. Without reliable long-term funding, many of our priceless industrial landmarks are at risk of deterioration and decay. Their loss would leave a gap in our understanding of the Industrial Revolution and the contribution Ironbridge Gorge made to the rest of the world.
You can help us double our money! Every £1 we raise in donations will be match-funded £1 for £1 by the HLF endowment grant.
