Story
We've seen a huge increase in the amount of lost and unwanted cats over the past year and this Christmas we're expecting a cat crisis.
In a year we care for over 3,000 lost, unwanted, injured and neglected animals with one mission: reunite or rehome.
We can care for up to 250 dogs and 200 cats at any one time across our two sites. An increase in animals arriving needing medical treatment means we now spend over £80,000 in veterinary treatments and we need your support to help us continue our work.
Here are just a few ways your donations will help:
A monthly donation of just £2 could pay for a heat lamp for a mum and her kittens.
A monthly donation of £5 could pay for flea and worm treatment for an animal in need.
A monthly donation of £10 could pay for a tub of kitten or puppy formula.
A monthly donation of £25 could pay for vaccinations to prevent diseases and infections.
Your donations will also help us to provide a warm environment for our animals during this winter as it costs around £25,000 per year to keep our shelters heated.
We rely on donations from our supporters to be able to look after these beautiful animals. A lot of our supporters will fundraise for us by doing sponsored walks (or leg waxes...ouch!) or by having a bake sale or a coffee morning.
Our goal this Christmas is to spread the word about our cause and to inspire others to get involved by donating and fundraising!
Donations can be submitted via our JustGiving page www.justgiving.com/dogandcatshelter, by calling in to the shelter or by texting CATDO9 £3 to 70070 to make a one-off donation of £3. Every donation helps!
