Story
Over 30 years of supporting families in the Winchester district who are facing adversity, helping them to face their future with confidence.
In 1993, Friends of the Family was established to provide early intervention for vulnerable families in our community. More than 30 years on, we are still there to guide and walk alongside those families, fostering better outcomes for them and their children.
The pressures of increasing costs, mental ill health and other issues are leading to increasingly complex needs for our families and a resulting increase in demand. We are determined to be here and to be a constant presence to make a positive change for the families and children who we support.
The link between exercise and wellness is well known, and good mental health is at the heart of our mission at Friends of the Family. Following the success of our team run at Eastleigh 10k last year, we are looking forward to shaking off the over-indulgences of the coming festive season with this run around Winchester on 23 February.
To help us achieve our fundraising goal, why not lace up your trainers and join us? If it's really not your thing but you'd like to support us, please donate here.
“Our volunteer was a godsend to me and my son...Her support helped me regain my confidence both as a parent and as a person. - Jenny, mum, 5s to 13s Befriending Service.
“The support in the group is important – we give each other a soft landing. I’ve grown as a person. I have demons, but I’m in control.” - Karla - Mums and Young Children Group
Whatever you can give, thank you.
