Story
1 in 10 girls in the UK have been unable to afford period products; and half of all schoolgirls miss a full day of school because of their periods. For so long, periods have been shrouded in secrecy. This natural phenomenon often arises with a plethora of physical, emotional and mental health issues, some of these issues include depression and anxiety that overlap with Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS).
Monthly, millions of women experience one form of period related issues or diagnosis such as PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, infertility, painful, heavy periods or no periods at all. We are embarking on this Charity Walk to speak up unashamedly and create a positive impact in our community and provide menstrual resources to help girls live healthier lives.
The Period Place is determined to support girls and women through their menstrual health journey as we champion positive menstrual health from menarche to menopause.
