Story

Inspired by the fundraising carried out by our local community, raising vital funds to support our services. We feel its only fair that we contribute and take on a challenge of our own.

We hope our community will once again encourage and support us as we take on the gruelling National 3 peaks challenge, by completing the 3 highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales.

On 17th May, Mark, Peter & Martin will climb Ben Nevis in Fort William Scotland, then travelling to the Lake District of Cumbria England to climb Scafell pike, then onto Snowdon in Snowdonia, North Wales. Aiming to conquer the challenge before the 24 hour deadline. Sam our Lead Practitioner has also agreed to take charge of the very important logistical duties.

Training and planning is already underway, The 24-hour 3 peaks challenge requires a high level of fitness, endurance, and mental stamina.

Steep and rugged mountain tracks, and Rapidly changing weather conditions, sleep deprivation, physical exhaustion, and mental fatigue, time constraints, limited and insufficient rest all come into play. Which is why the success rate for the 24-hour challenge is around 40%.

As always though, We rely on our community for support. Please share, send messages of encouragement and donate if you can, to enable us to keep the people of Inverclyde and beyond safe from suicide. Together we can make a difference.
