This summer I was privileged to be able to go to to both Kenya and Uganda to visit the work of Spud Bears Ministry. One of the saddest experiences I had was witnessing newborn babies that had been abandoned in plastic bags. Once found they were taken by the authorities to local children's homes. Depending on the time of day, heat and amount of air in the bags, determined the outcome for the baby. For many they didn't have a chance and arrived to us already passed away. Without protocol or resources the babies were disposed of as clinical waste or worse. As i stood and prayed I new Spud Bears had to help. I have set up the Lanni Remembrance Appeal to enable these abandoned babies to be remembered and have a Christian burial. I am launching the appeal today on the anniversary of Lannis death 30th August. Our target of £500 will enable us to provide for 50 babies to be laid to rest with love and dignity.
