In 2026, Side by Side celebrates 10 years of music, inclusion and community.

Founded in 2016, Side by Side was created to offer a welcoming and supportive musical space for individuals living with long-term health conditions, additional needs and those seeking connection. Ten years on, we are proud to have been named Choir of the Year at the prestigious Wales Prestige Awards.

To mark our tenth birthday, we are launching a simple but powerful celebration.

10 for 10

We are inviting our community to take part in a personal challenge linked to the number ten.

Your challenge could be:

• Walk 10 miles over 10 days

• Learn 10 new songs

• Bake 10 cakes

• Read 10 books

• Say hello to 10 new people

• Share 10 stories about community

It does not need to be big. It does not need to be difficult. It just needs to be meaningful to you.

Do I have to fundraise?

No.

This campaign is first and foremost about celebration, visibility and community.

However, if you would like to support the future of Side by Side while taking part, you are welcome to donate or ask others to sponsor your challenge.

Every contribution helps us continue providing an inclusive, accessible and welcoming space for our members.

Why It Matters

Side by Side is more than a choir. It is a place of belonging.

We offer flexible participation, including hybrid rehearsals, ensuring people can stay connected even during periods of illness or other barriers. Over the past ten years, we have built a community where people feel safe to participate at their own pace.
