Story
Eight-year-old Labrador Toby worked a bomb detection dog at Luton Airport for seven years, keeping millions of passengers safe.
He was adopted by Caitlin and Antony who’d been looking to take on a rescue Labrador for some time. He was just two months into his new life in Bedford when he fell ill.
Caitlin has this to say about Toby: “A friend of ours worked at the airport and told us about Toby, and put us in touch with his handler. We met him and fell in love almost instantly!
“He’s a very handsome and loving boy, and he’s got a cheeky side too. We recently too him camping on the Isle of Wight and he loved it; his favourite thing was swimming in the sea.”
Toby had been settling into his new home for two months when he fell seriously ill and needed urgent treatment.
He was hospitalised on 27th September and diagnosed with severe gastroenteritis, needing round-the-clock care, costing more than £8,000 so far.
He remains in the veterinary clinic and we’re supporting his owners with his ongoing care – but we need your help.
Caitlin added: “We’re so grateful to the Thin Blue Paw for their support for Toby; if it wasn’t for them we would have had to have made a really difficult decision to have him put to sleep because we just don’t have that sort of money.”
Please help us cover the costs of Toby’s treatment by donating to our emergency fundraising appeal.
