Story
Emmaus Bristol has been providing a safe and supportive home for many years. Our community has been a lifeline for those who have faced unimaginable hardships, offering a place of belonging, purpose and hope. However, as with any home, regular repairs and maintenance are essential to ensure the well-being and comfort of our residents.
That is why we are launching the Repairs & Energy Appeal, calling on valued supporters like you to help us raise funds for vital repair work and maintenance at the homes we provide, including our 21-bedroom community house. Your generous donations will enable us to address pressing issues such as roof repairs, plumbing, electrical work weather proofing and general upkeep, ensuring that our residents have a safe and well-maintained environment to call home.
The need for repairs and maintenance has become increasingly urgent. The cost of running our main community residence alone has increased by 121% over the last 12 months. That means it will cost an additional £41,993 this year to continue providing essential repairs, maintenance, light, heat, water and sewerage for residents.
The wear and tear of daily life in a large residence and the significant income we are spending on energy and food bills have all taken a toll on our limited resources. By donating to our Repairs & Energy Appeal, you will directly contribute to maintaining a safe, warm and comfortable environment that provides stability as people rebuild their lives.
Your support is vital in making a difference in the lives of those we house. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant impact. You can support our appeal through a regular gift, one-off donation, fundraiser or payroll giving.
