Story

We are raising money to sponsor a day of research at a Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence where scientists are working to find a cure for this devastating disease featured on EastEnders

Lola's story is a reality for too many patients; brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this.

EastEnders has been praised for its sensitive and realistic portrayal of this devastating disease but while Lola is a character in a soap opera, her story is all too familiar to too many families here in the UK. Some types of brain tumour remain incurable, carrying a stark prognosis of little more than a year, the patient’s only option are treatments which haven’t changed in decades.

Please make a donation to help rewrite the story for real-life Lolas in the future.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
