Story
PWHRC is the first wildlife hospital and rehabilitation charity in the UK to be founded by a veterinary surgeon and depends on a volunteer team of veterinarians, nurses, rehabilitation workers, and others brought together by a passion for protecting wildlife.
Based near Watford, Pumpkin's Wildlife Hospital & Rehabilitation Centre addresses the pressing local needs of wildlife in London's greenbelt and those impacted by the HS2 rail development. Only with the help of donors and supporters, we will continue to expand our reach to help wildlife across the country.
Due to the ever-increasing number of casualties, we have recently moved into a new space but it needs more renovation to expand its rehabilitation capacity. That's why we are running this campaign to convert eight sheds into animal shelters for our growing list of patients.
Phase 1 would include:
- Leveling and installation of new flooring
- Insulating the 8 sheds and making them 'fit for purpose'
- Mechanical, electrical and plumbing work
Phase 2:
=For the later phase of our project, we'll be looking for a permanent home to build a high standard Wildlife Hospital with all the veterinary and rehabilitation facilities required for our work. This will included veterinary and nursing staff, rehabilitation team, an educational centre, courses, training, etc.
We hope to raise £25,000 to support the work of Phase 1 and the exact details of the spending will be posted on our website and shared with our donors, in line with our transparency policy. For more information on PWHRC and the work we do, visit our website:
