At a time when uncertainty reigns in our lives, the sureness that Pequot Library is a community resource and a cultural beacon anchors my colleagues and me. Thanks to your thoughtful support, children and families gather for story times that spark curiosity, neighbors meet for thought-provoking author talks and enjoy Special Collections exhibitions, and students and researchers young and old utilize primary source material that offer a look into history and our shared common ground. No doubt, you agree that Pequot Library continues to be an oasis where community bonds deepen.
However, none of this is possible without your support. Each year we must raise over $1 million in private sector contributions from foundation grants, business sponsorships, ticketed special events, and outright donations from generous community members like you. We must still raise nearly $65,000 by the June 30 fiscal year end to meet this year’s projected goal. Will you help us exceed this goal? Your donation at this precarious time will ensure that Pequot Library can continue to:
• Offer free educational programs for K-12 school students.
• Care for our extraordinary Special Collections.
• Host engaging exhibitions-related and music and theater performances.
• Lend books and other media, at no cost.
• Maintain our historic building and beautiful grounds, welcoming all who visit.
Would you consider making a contribution this year? Your support is not only a donation—it’s a gift to the entire community.
With appreciation,
Stephanie J. Coakley
