For over a century, 1st Helmsley Scout Group has been at the heart of our Helmsley and the wider community. Since 1908, we’ve inspired generations of young people through adventure, teamwork, and lifelong skills. From our Beavers to Explorers, our Scouts have learned how to lead, care, and grow—together.

But now, we need your help to secure that future.

🏚 Our Hut is Worn, but Our Spirit is Strong

Our current Scout Hut has been the backdrop for countless happy memories—from the first campfire to the latest badge earned. It holds a special place in our hearts, and we continue to invest in keeping it safe for our children and the wider community. However, its deteriorating condition makes this unsustainable in the long term. The building is outdated, increasingly costly to maintain, and no longer meets the needs of our growing and thriving group.

We’re planning a complete rebuild, including:

*Planning permission and surveys

*Safe removal of the existing structure

*A new, modern hut built to last generations

*Continued upkeep of the current space

💪 Why This Matters

Scouting offers more than weekly meetings. We teach real-world skills—like first aid, map reading, fire safety, teamwork, and leadership. Whether we’re running outdoor camps, building shelters, or taking part in local events, the Scout Hut is our launchpad for adventure.

We serve children from age 6 to 18, offering Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers a safe, inclusive, and exciting environment.
