Did you know…?
- in 2023, Neighborhood House helped 200 homeless families secure permanent housing
- in 2023, Neighborhood House helped 388 families avoid eviction and stay in their homes
- in 2023, Neighborhood House provided 23 families with emergency hotel stays when no shelter space was available
Help us raise $20,000 to support families achieving permanent housing stability in ways that honor the dignity and goals of each family. Some of the ways Neighborhood House helps families includes:
- providing families with essential items, such as mattresses, to furnish their new home
- providing basic supplies, such as clothes, towels, and blankets
- helping families connect with the Northwest Furniture Bank to acquire tables, chairs, desks, and other furniture
- paying for emergency hotel stays
- helping adults find jobs with livable wages that can sustain the family’s housing expenses
Neighborhood House has offered Housing Stability services for King County families since 2013. Our organization partners with other institutions—such as school districts, United Way of King County, and Mary’s Place—to support individuals and families holistically. The number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness in King County has increased significantly since 2020, and Neighborhood House is doing as much as possible to serve our community members.
Neighborhood House recently received nearly $200,000 from the Homeless Student Stability Program to serve homeless families with children who are seeking asylum in the United States and are currently sheltering at the Riverton Park Church in Tukwila. As Neighborhood House’s Director of Housing and Economic Opportunity recently shared with the Seattle Times:
A ton more support will be needed. But we are hoping that we can provide some support to some of the families.
