Metal Merch Day returns on Friday 23rd October 2026 - and this year, we have even more to celebrate.This will be our fourth Metal Merch Day and marks three years since Metal For Good began awarding grants to community organisations using music to change lives.

By the end of 2026, we will have supported more than 35 projects and distributed well over £50,000 in funding. Together, these projects are supporting mental health and wellbeing, helping young people thrive and amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities.

Metal Merch Day is our annual celebration of music, community and the positive difference we can make together. On Friday 23d October, wear your favourite, oldest, loudest or most ridiculous piece of music merch to work, school, college, the gym or from the comfort of your own home.

There are no rules. It could be your favourite band T-shirt, full corpse paint, some Rob Halford-inspired leather or the official 2026 Metal Merch Day T-shirt. Rock, metal, punk, alternative and everything in between is welcome.

All we ask is that you make a donation to Metal For Good, we suggest £5 if you are able, and share a photo using #MMD26.

What is Metal For Good?

Fueled by the unstoppable energy of the metal community, we fund projects that use music to improve mental health, unlock young potential, and amplify underrepresented voices - because metal is more than music, it’s a movement.

The rock and metal community is truly unique. We’re brought together by a shared love of great music and a deep sense of belonging. We feel part of something bigger - accepted, understood, and supported, like someone’s always got our back.

Music is transformational. Whether playing, listening or watching live - it can be an escape when you are struggling, give you a voice when you feel unheard, bring people together, and give you the confidence and skills to thrive.

Through our fundraising, we provide grants to community organisations that use music to change lives. Previously funded projects include The Music Works, Heads Above The Waves and Gig Buddies.

We’re a registered charity, and the passion and generosity of the rock and metal community powers every grant we give. We raise funds year-round by selling merchandise, partnering with industry allies, and offering preloved alternative clothing.

We also run the Metal Collective - a unique supporters’ club where members make a small monthly donation and play an active role in shaping the future of the metal world.
