The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileThere are more than 1,800 homeless women living in Spokane each day. Meeting their basic needs can be a struggle for VOA's Hope House and Transitions' Women's Hearth. Imagine not having access to bras, underwear and personal hygiene items due to poverty and homelessness. Physiology and biology are facts of life and women shouldn't be punished because of it.
You can help!
Host a virtual Mardi Bras Party and collect monetary donations, bras, underwear, deodorant, razors, tampons and 2-hour bus passes for women experiencing homelessness in Spokane and accessing services at Women's Hearth (day-time drop-in women's center) and/or Hope House (overnight women's shelter). Check out this video for Hope House and this video for Women's Hearth, and feel free to share them on social media, at your party, anywhere!
You or your guests can drop off all your donated items at our Drive-Thru Drop-Off on Saturday, March 5th, between 10am and 2pm, at the new Hope House (318 South Adams) and receive a free small gift if you're one of the first 50. Or shop our Amazon wish list and ship directly to us.
All monetary donations will be split equally between Hope House and Women's Hearth; all in-kind donations will be used to help these and other programs of Volunteers of America and Transitions.
If we have enough and there is a need, we will also share items with other community organizations helping women in poverty, including social service agencies and schools.
