Story
We're no stranger to helping animals in a time of crisis, and Lady here was no exception.
On the 4th of October 2022 we received a call from the local inspectorate team asking if we could take in a Jack Russell who was currently at the vets in a critical condition. We of course said yes without hesitation. Lady was rushed to a vets after she was found by the inspector with her esophagus ripped out. The inspector took quick action and a local vet managed to help her in time so that her wound was not fatal.
Seeing such a loving dog in a horrible state is always heartbreaking, but, Lady's terrier spirit means she's fighting to pull through...
Lady is now a few days post op and is recovering well, but sadly, her surgery journey doesn't end here. Lady cannot weight bare on her left hind limb. We do not know how long she's been struggling with this or how it came about. Our local vets, Penmellyn Vets, are investigating her leg, but it's likely that she will need to have her leg amputated, or, need cruciate surgery on both of her hind legs!
As we are not funded by the RSPCA, all of Lady's veterinary bills will be paid for by us. We have over 100 animals under our care that all need our support and we, like every other rescue, need finical support from the public to keep helping these animals. If you can support us, even a small amount, this will go a long way to ensure that we can give every animal the second chance they deserve.
Thank you for taking the time to read Lady's story.
- Any additional funds made form this fundraiser will go towards our vital animal welfare work in Cornwall to help other animals in need.
