Story
The future of beekeeping is in the hands of young people, so, three young Scottish beekeepers, Team Scotland, are very excited to have been invited to IMYB 2024, in Dubai.
Leah from Lanarkshire Beekeepers
Lucy from Borders Beekeepers
Blair from Edinburgh & Midlothian Beekeepers
Celebrating its thirteenth year, IMYB is the biggest international meeting of young beekeepers worldwide.
Focusing on a testing beekeeping competition and with an inspiring cultural and social programme, IMYB encourages and educates young beekeepers in the study of beekeeping, while meeting new friends from around the world.
Your donations will fund training for Team Scotland and help with travel costs. They will also go towards the Scottish Beekeepers Association Young Beekeepers (YBs) education and events.
Thank you.
Here are some of the YBs’ comments from the last meeting….
What were the highlights?
‘Meeting tons of new people and making friends with people I’m still in contact with today’
What did you get out of the experience?
‘I got a lot of pride being able to represent my country at an event like this and I cannot even begin to explain how grateful I am for it’.
‘I got to learn about other countries and cultures, and I was also able to meet up with other like-minded young people’
