Story
As we are continually hearing in the news, the NHS is struggling with increasing demands on its services, with few signs of any improvement in the foreseeable future. The situation can be even more severe if you live in a rural area. In an effort to ease the situation and secure that all-important initial response and provide our villages and large business community with the benefit of medically trained personnel, we are starting Hixon Community First Responders scheme. The project has been initiated by Hixon Memorial Hall (Charity no: 223999) and will be supported by West Midlands Ambulance Service, who will interview, select and train Hixon CFRs.
The CFRs will cover an area of approximately 5 to 7 miles from the base in Hixon and will include Little and Great Haywood, Weston and beyond and all the villages and rural communities in between.
The scheme's only means of finance is through generous donations from people in the local community who might benefit from the project. You yourself might even be glad to see one of the dedicated volunteers turn up on your doorstep to assist you in a time of need. The initial costs will be approximately £11,000, which will be needed to provide a car, insurance, uniforms and equipment.
If you are interested in getting involved either as potential First Responder or just as importantly, as part the committee that will fundraise and support them, please get in touch.
